All About Corky!

We were lucky enough to adopt Corky through the Welsh Corgi Rescue Club in Ohio. What we know about his history is that he had one owner, who we think may have died. He then got passed to another owner, with children, and everyone did not get along well. Consequently, Corky wound up in a shelter in Indiana. The shelter recognized that he is a good dog, so they called the Rescue.

Corky did his temporary stay in Cincinnati, then came to live with a very nice lady in Columbus. She also had another Corgi and a cat. Her condo complex decided no one could have more than one dog, so four months later Corky was "home-hunting", once again. About this time, my mother's dog (Nola - who was saved as a pup, from a busy street in 1983), decided her people-sitting days were done and she was ready to rest. Mom (Mae) was very lonesome, so I (Lyn) talked her into the corgi from the rescue.

I already had a corgi at this point, since 1988, named "Tripper", who is quite selective about who he likes.

So, Corky took to us immediately, and lives with Mae and visits Tripper and Lyn about once a month for the week-end. Corky keeps Mae company and won't go to bed until she does. He will go in and get on his bed about 10 P.M., but if Mae does not follow shortly, he comes back out and stands and looks. (You see he is quite tired from running through the house all day after Tuffy the tabby cat!)

We always tell Corky that he will never have to worry about being a rescue dog again because we wouldn't trade him for the world!

Corky is a four year old, neutered, Pembroke Welsh Corgi, who is co-owned by Mae & Lyn.
